Lucas Treb Art

Lucas Treb from Zonhoven, Belgium, created works infused with vision, compassion, and an almost timeless serenity. Today, the artistic legacy of Lucas Treb lives on, not only in memory, but in the heart of his son Jan (Gloomy) and in these carefully crafted large-format prints.

What’s this all about? For many years, I have worked from a position of giving rather than exchange. Hundreds of my music pieces were released freely on YouTube, Bandcamp, and SoundCloud, accompanied by text and context. What began as a personal practice gradually became a sustained public offering.

The paintings of my late father are now presented as these carefully crafted large-format prints. This project continues the same spirit: openness, access, and legacy.

Almost each of these carefully crafted large-format prints contains a visible camera flash. On a material level, it is simply light captured in the image. On a conceptual level, it functions as a point of attention, a moment where the viewer becomes aware of presence.

When placed in a domestic space, the work does not demand interpretation. It operates quietly, establishing an atmosphere rather than a message.

An ongoing openness toward care, clarity, and connection. This is the core of the project.

If you find the paintings of my father beautiful and would like to use one of these carefully crafted large-format prints in a project of your own, you are welcome to make a donation.

Displayed immediately, without frames or damage to your walls.

To keep this work sustainable, donations below production cost cannot be accepted; if this happens, your donation will be refunded immediately. Thank you for your understanding.
