The track explores RFID technology’s roots, from 1970s toll devices back to earlier radio innovations, highlighting its shift from barcodes to contactless tracking. It raises real worries: health effects, privacy risks, security, and the eerie idea of unique IDs embedded in products, or people.
Vocals repeatedly echo Revelation: “no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark,” framing RFID as the “mark of the beast” mixed with “computer science and brutality.” The remixes build hypnotic, industrial layers, turning technical evolution into a provocative, dystopian auditory warning.
Looking back, this was classic 1.0 thinking, technology as a tool of control, fear of the unknown driving conspiracy narratives. It captured genuine societal anxiety about losing freedom in an increasingly connected world, but it stayed rooted in scarcity, suspicion, and division.
